Tara deGrandmaison has been producing jewellery for the past 20 years. From an early age onTara was surrounded by artists within her family.Her Grandfather Nicholas deGrandmaison was an internationally recognized portrait artist of First Nations,and her Father O.N. Grandmaison was a painter of Alberta landscapes.With this influence and encouragment Tara pursued studies in Fine Arts,but migrated towards three dimentional forms,as a results she started to make jewellery which she sold instantly to freinds,fellow students,stores,and galleries
After her formal training in jewellery design and a further ten years of both producing and marketing her hand made designs in her studio/gallery on Granville Island Vancouver ,Tara spent three years living and working in San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico.This experience was a major inspiration for her current collections.With several trips to Taxco,and Mexico City to purchase materials,Tara was very taken by the rich variety of beautiful craftsmenship found in the arctitecture,metalwork,and ceramics
Tara currently resides on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Southern B.C.where she has found new inspiration in nature.These design collections are currently available in selected galleries and retail outlets in Canada,US,and Mexico.
